Hamish Balnaves
Hamish is the son of Neil and Diane. Hamish graduated from Sydney University with a degree in Economics (Social Science) and later did a diploma of Education at UNSW. Hamish worked as a teacher for ten years in Sydney and overseas. In 2009 he began work at the family office and is the CEO of The Balnaves Foundation.
Amelia Hart
Amelia is a passionate fundraiser who is driven by her desire to make a difference for the next generation. Whilst working within the corporate sector at Fossil Group, she began volunteering on the Fossil Foundation, this experience of giving back sparked her decision to move into the not-for-profit sector.
Before joining The Balnaves Foundation in 2021, she worked at batyr as the Head of Partnerships - Fundraising. Before that Amelia was the National Partnerships Manager at children's cancer charity, Redkite, where her team was responsible for the success of the Dry July campaign and record breaking Corporate Quiz Events.
Rachel Verity
Rachel is a CPA and Chartered Secretary with over 25 years of finance experience. She has extensive experience in multi-national organisations and more recently the not-for-profit sector. Rachel is a long-standing supporter of The Balnaves Foundation, having been the Finance Manager from 2018 – 2019 and is excited to once again be a member of the team.
Rachel holds a B. Business (Accounting/Finance and Economics) (UTS), a Graduate Diploma from the Governance Institute of Australia (AGIA/ACG), is a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and is a member of the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA).
Rachel is a passionate volunteer as a Surf Lifesaver at her local beach and enjoys travelling both overseas and exploring Australia with her family.
Kelly-Maree Michael
Kelly-Maree (Kelly) started her professional life leading tours in Europe and South America before commencing work in the luxury tourism industry in Australia. Her experience in developing and operating tours piqued an interest in further expanding her relationship building, project management and copywriting skills into her role at The Balnaves Foundation. Kelly has a keen interest in theatre, and is actively involved in the amateur theatre community in the Illawarra as a writer, director, actor and producer.
